I was born and raised in California just outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. I started singing in 5th grade, but after that I did not start singing until high school. It was in junior high where I picked up the guitar and started learning on my own. In high school I took a guitar class (definitely could have used more classes like this one) and was recommended to study with a professional, which regretfully I never did. Nevertheless, through high school I was involved in several church bands, I think around 4. It was through the involvement in these bands that I grew immensely. After I graduated, I toured on a Youth Encounter Captive Free ministry team/band in the north central region of the USofA. We played 120 concerts while I was involved with that. It was on this team that my stage presence while performing matured and expanded. We played concerts at small churches to youth gathering of 1,000 youth. I then moved on into college at Concordia University, Nebraska to become a Director of Christian Education. I am currently finishing up here pretty soon, May of 2006 can't come soon enough! It was here at Concordia that Maegan and I met to later form Right Lane Vacant. Since then (Feb 2004), Maegan and I have created our own style of "aggressive folk-rock" mixed up with our individual personalities. |
